This painting is based on the photography of my friend Claus Pelz, who I met when I lived in Chicago. I painted a rendition of his photograph for him as a gift, as a thank-you for allowing me to use his image.

 
This iconic scene is the view of a frozen Lake Michigan, seen from North Avenue Beach.
